Our staff have Skype addresses and often work with students using Skype, especially for video conferencing and drawing out maths problems or diagrams on the screen in front of their students while speaking together at the same time.

Skype is software that enables millions of individuals and businesses to make free video and voice calls, send instant messages and share files with other Skype users. Everyday, people everywhere also use Skype to make low-cost calls to landlines and mobiles.

What you need:

*Access to a broadband internet connection is required.
*Head set or Skpye video camera with a built in mics- these are USB devices that cost between $20 and $70. . The video cameras are now so cheap there is little point cost cutting and buying just the simple microphone..

You will also need the Skype program which can be downloaded here.


Once you have down loaded Skype you can install drawing software plug ins so that you can interface with our teachers using pictures while talking.

Skype is not a replacement for your traditional telephone service and will not interfer with your land line, except the Telephone company will not make so much money from you.
